Join Ofwat's Communications Team as a Senior Parliamentary and Public Affairs Officer
About Us
We’re Ofwat, the Water Services Regulation Authority – a non-ministerial government department responsible for regulating the water sector in England and Wales.
As the economic regulator of water and wastewater companies in England and Wales, our role is to enable, incentivise and hold companies to account for providing the very best for customers, communities and the environment now and in the future. We also oversee the markets in the water sector to ensure they’re working for customers.
The work that you’ll be involved in every day will help us to deliver our strategy, to make us the regulator we want to be and help the sector to deliver for customers and society.
The Role
We have an opportunity for a Senior Parliamentary and Public Affairs Officer to join our Communications Team.
The Senior Parliamentary and Public Affairs Officer will join Ofwat’s dynamic and newly established Public Affairs function. You will play a vital role in the team, working to build our profile, develop proactive campaigns and champion political stakeholder engagement across England and Wales.
You will need to establish yourself as credible and reliable with all parts of the organisation, including the leadership team. With your expert knowledge of parliament and the political environment, you will provide considered, sound advice on political engagement and handling to protect and strengthen Ofwat’s reputation. You will also be able to understand often complex, technical policy and turn it into accessible, compelling messages tailored to different audiences.
At a crucial time for the water sector, where events move at a rapid pace, you will contribute to and help deliver our new public affairs strategy, building on our overall communications strategy.
