Job Details

The Senior Account Manager (SAM) role is designed for a professional with demonstrable experience of working in public affairs & with a passion for health & social care. This is a high-profile position, driving the successful delivery of a range of our clients’ public affairs programmes.

Client & Account Management

  • Understand clients & their operating environments to help solve their problems;
  • Build relationships with clients based on trust & delivery;
  • Develop strategies & activities for clients, & oversee their execution, quality controlling all aspects of the programmes;
  • Drive the successful delivery of engagement programs across Westminster & Whitehall;
  • Responsible for day-to-day management of a range of clients’ accounts, taking responsibility for driving planning, delivery, & results.

Research & Writing

  • Conduct highly accurate research & interpret how this will impact on clients;
  • Write high quality account materials, including research papers, parliamentary briefings, reports, newsletters, campaign material & press releases;
  • Proof, amend & improve materials produced by junior staff, & have final approval prior to sending to clients.

Business Development

  • Support the senior team to protect & grow the revenue streams for existing accounts;
  • Identify & develop new business opportunities, including drafting strategies & playing a role in tenders & pitches.

Networking & Relationship Building

  • Undertake networking across the political & policy spheres, including within Parliament, and at external events;
  • Forge strong links with those across the business, regulatory & market access space.

Personal Specification

  • Being a personable, approachable & friendly member of the PLMR Healthcomms & wider PLMR team;
  • Be comfortable working independently, bringing fresh ideas & a desire to grow your leadership skills;
  • Have a cracking answer to ‘what’s your favourite Mastermind topic’ question in your interview.
