We are recruiting a Policy Officer to help provide research, analytical, communications, and administrative support to Solace's Policy Team and Policy Board.

Job duties/key responsibilities
- Undertake research and analysis to help develop and communicate policy advice through consultation responses, reports, events, and surveys;
- Work closely with our spokespeople to develop and promote policy positions;
- Organise events – roundtables, webinars, meetings – with a range of external and internal stakeholders, including Ministers, senior Civil Servants, and Solace’s Policy Board;
- Collaborate closely with Solace’s Business Partner team to help set up and run policy-focused events, and create bespoke content around them;
- Provide administrative and communications support to the Policy Team, including organising internal meetings, helping to coordinate and write Solace’s weekly newsletter for members, drafting articles for a variety of media outlets, and developing content for our social media channels.
Person specification
- Excellent writing skills (short and long form) and strong communicator;
- Ability to build effective working relationships, including with senior people;
- Can successfully plan, manage and monitor multiple projects;
- Keen interest in public policy and current affairs;
- Knowledge and experience of local government policy issues beneficial;
- Proficiency with Word, Excel and social media. Experience of using Hubspot, Survey Monkey, and Salesforce would also be helpful;
- Self-starter, able to work on own initiative as well as in a team.
Location: Mostly home-based but occasional travel (expenses covered)
