We are seeking a driven and dynamic Policy Manager for AIC Scotland to represent our Member businesses and play a leading role in influencing Scottish agricultural policy.
The role reports to AIC’s Chief Executive and is a key part of our team of policy experts. This is a part-time (3 days a week), home-based role, with a competitive remuneration and benefits package.
The Policy Manager is responsible for taking the lead and liaising with both AIC Members and our stakeholders to ensure that AIC Scotland policies support a productive and sustainable Scottish agriculture. Key stakeholders include Scottish Government, Scottish MPs, MSPs, Food Standards Scotland, SASA, farming unions and NGOs.
In this role, you will:
- Lead on Member, stakeholder, MSP, MP, and policymaker engagement in Scotland;
- Shape and influence Scottish agricultural policy;
- Represent AIC Scotland Members' interests in key policy discussions;
- Build and maintain relationships with government, industry, and stakeholders;
- Provide expert insight into agricultural supply chains.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a strong understanding of agricultural supply chains;
- Is passionate about agricultural policy and politics;
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills;
- Is proactive and comfortable working with a high level of autonomy;
- Is open to occasional travel.
