Do you have the creativity to lead the corporate communications and public affairs for Bridgend County Borough Council? Do you have the drive and enthusiasm to build effective communications with those who live, work and visit Bridgend County Borough?

Bridgend County Borough has a diverse geography, with beautiful valleys in the north to the 12.5 miles of coastline and beaches to the south.  The M4 runs right through the centre of the county borough, and we have main-line rail links to Cardiff and London to the east, and Swansea in the west.

As Group Manager, Communications and Public Affairs, you will lead a talented team providing a full range of communications disciplines covering media relations and reputation management; service communications and public information; social marketing and behaviour change; digital and print media communications; public affairs, lobbying and government relations; consultation and engagement; integrated campaigns; business engagement; and the equalities and Welsh language agenda.

You’ll be an energetic and enthusiastic leader who is confident in providing guidance to senior politicians & managers. You’ll use your experience to devise and run campaigns, respond to emerging issues and ensure we effectively engage and listen to communities.

A key player in the Council’s senior management team you will also head up communications and public affairs for the whole council, helping to make a tangible difference to the people in our county.

In return we’ll offer fantastic benefits, flexible working, great development opportunities and a guarantee no two days will be the same.
