Founded in 2017, Barndoor Strategy is a growing public affairs network that specialises in offering experienced strategic policy advice to clients large and small. Our flexible, digital network offers expert senior counsel from experienced public affairs practitioners based across the UK. Significant recent client growth means that Barndoor Strategy is seeking to expand its network.

Our focus is high-quality strategic support for our clients from experienced Consultants. We are currently recruiting for experienced public affairs consultants to join our network.

Barndoor Strategy is specifically seeking experienced freelance consultants adept at direct client handling with a proven track record of advising on public policy issues in the UK and EU in the areas of:

  • Financial Services;
  • Tech;
  • Energy; or
  • A generalist with a proven track record of delivery in multiple fields.

Our Senior Consultants have typically gained knowledge of policy development, parliamentary procedure and practice through working at Westminster, for the civil service, for a think tank, in a regulatory body, or in a corporate public affairs role. They are comfortable briefing on policy and legislation, leading client meetings with policymakers, and drafting correspondence and written briefings for clients and stakeholders.

The role will be a remote, contract-based freelance position and would suit someone already working as a freelancer or seeking freelance opportunities. We anticipate that you may have other clients, responsibilities or outside interests. Occasional travel to Westminster will be required for this role.
