The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

PoliMonitor is expanding with sustained growth in 2023 & 2024 and a strong pipeline in place the business is looking for a Business Development Associate to join the business.

This role will be expected to identify and engage with new prospects and set up sales meetings to support our business development managers and would suit someone with an interest or background in politics looking to break into a commercial role. Past sales experience is not required for this position.

Through a mixture of cold calling, follow-up marketing and event attendance the right candidate will be focused on setting up high quality sales meetings. Working within the commercial team the Business Development Associate will work directly with an experienced Business Development Manager.

The responsibilities:

  • Generate leads and schedule meetings through research, cold calling, attending events and marketing emails;
  • Work with wider team to prepare and support pitches and proposals;
  • Present and position Promonitor’s service over the phone and in face-to-face meetings (where appropriate) (some travel in UK might be required);
  • Keeping sales / prospect details up to date (Hubspot).

Essential Attributes:

  • Keen to learn new skills - assisted and working directly with Commercial Director, MD and CEO;
  • Problem solver - you will run into barriers which we will expect you to propose solutions to - with assistance offered if needed;
  • Attention to detail - Impeccable time management as well as getting all the little "unimportant" details right. Make no mistake - the accuracy and quality of this work will have a direct impact on the company's success;
  • Team player - collaboration and being a positive voice in the team is essential in this role;
  • Ambitious - this role will provide an opportunity to join a fast growing business where all team members are ambitious for themselves and the company.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Commercial skills and business acumen;
  • Exposure to Hubspot or other CRMs is beneficial;
  • Interest in politics is a strong plus.
