Invicta has been a leading UK Public Affairs Company since 2007. We support businesses through often challenging political, regulatory and media landscapes. In this role, you will deliver political and community engagement services to companies, carry out research and intelligence gathering that will be used to inform political and community engagement strategies as well as office administrative duties. The role will also require involvement in event planning and organisation.

This is a varied role that would suit anyone with previous experience in:

  • A public affairs agency;
  • Experience in a parliamentary office or political support/research role;
  • Or for someone looking to move from public relations into a role with a more political focus.

OBJECTIVES

  • Work with the account management team to develop engagement strategies, client proposals and political appraisals;
  • The day-to-day running of client account tasks alongside the relevant Account Manager, including responding to client emails, taking client phone calls, joining client strategy meetings, monitoring media coverage, updating project websites and updating key contacts/stakeholder lists;
  • Work with the wider team to deliver public consultation for client projects, including public exhibitions, community liaison forums, attendance at community council meetings and indirect engagement with the general public;
  • Facilitate political engagement for clients, by organising and attending meetings with key political stakeholders at a local authority and national level and maintaining contact throughout a client project;
  • Work with the wider team to undertake media engagement for client projects, including drafting press releases and organising photo ops.
  • Produce draft statutory submissions for client projects when necessary;
  • Research political and regulatory landscapes when new business opportunities arise for the Company;
  • Analyse and research key legislation and initiatives where relevant to a particular client base or the Company;
  • Monitor activity for each of your client accounts and produce monthly activity reports as agreed with the Account Manager.

REQUIREMENTS

Previous Experience:

  • Experience in public affairs, public relations or a political support role would be advantageous, however, relevant experience in a non-PA related job, as well as unpaid work experience or traineeships relating to your degree, will also be considered.

Education:

  • The post holder should be educated to at least undergraduate degree level, preferably in a related subject (Social Sciences, Humanities).

  • A keen interest in politics, public policy and current affairs;
  • The ability to manage and retain professional relationships;
  • The ability to work well under pressure;
