The Public Affairs Awards 2015, hosted by the PRCA, Zetter’s Political Services and GovKnow, took place for the second consecutive year on Thursday 10th December at the Park Plaza Riverbank, where 400 public affairs practitioners gathered to celebrate the very best of the year’s public affairs activities. PubAffairs was proud to be a Media Partner for the black tie event which was hosted by Adam Boulton, Sky News Tonight’s Presenter.
The big winners of the night included Airport Operators Association, who won In-house Team of the Year, and GK Strategy, which won Consultancy of the Year. The Outstanding Contribution award, sponsored by DeHavilland, went to Ian Wright, Director General, Food and Drink Federation and the Douglas Smith Prize 2015 was awarded to Simon Richards, FleishmanHillard.
The Best In-house Consultancy Collaboration was awarded to PLMR and A Fair Tax on Flying for their ‘Scrap the Tax on Family Flights’ campaign. The Planning Campaign of the Year was awarded to Connect Communications for its work on ‘Stimulating the Redevelopment of Archway Town Centre’. Party Conference Event of the Year was handed to PHA Media for its campaign entitled ‘WOW: Championing Working Women at Conservative Party Conference’. The Institute of Fiscal Studies scooped Think Tank of the Year award, which was supported by PubAffairs and presented by PubAffairs Co-Founder Pauliina Murphy.
The award celebrating the Best Campaign in Scotland, supported by PubAffairs and presented by PubAffairs Founder and Director Phil Murphy, went to Orbit Communications for its ‘Millions for Mental Health in Scotland’ campaign. Best Campaign in Wales was handed to Deryn for its ‘Strengthening the Violence Against Women’ Bill. Best Campaign in Northern Ireland was awarded to Stratagem for the ‘Equal Access’ campaign.
Best EU In-House Campaign of the Year was awarded to Cancer Research UK for its campaign ‘Data Saves Lives’, whereas the Best EU Consultancy Campaign of the Year award was handed to Interel.
Speaking at the awards, Francis Ingham MPRCA, PRCA Director General, said: “We are delighted to announce another hugely successful year for The Public Affairs Awards. Once again the standard of entries was extremely high and all entries pay testament to the continued rise in quality in the public affairs industry.”
Lionel Zetter FPRCA, PRCA Public Affairs Group Chairman, said: "The volume and quality of the entries clearly demonstrated the great public affairs work which is being undertaken throughout the UK - and in Brussels.”
