The award-winning public affairs and communications specialists at Westminster Advisers have published Managing Political Risk, a collection of essays on what 2015 will mean for public affairs.

FOREWORD

The result of the general election on 7th May this year is one of the most hotly anticipated in a generation, partly because the outcome is so difficult to predict. It is also partly because whichever party or parties form the next government will still have an enormous job to do to get the UK economy back on track, rebuild confidence in the political system and juggle several issues at home and abroad that will all involve great reserves of political will.

From the UK’s future relationship with Europe, to increased levels of regional devolution and the roles and responsibilities of MPs in an increasingly fragmented parliament, our team of policy specialists at Westminster Advisers has put together a series of short essays on what the current dynamics in British politics means for public affairs in the coming year.

What is clear is that 2015 will be a year of political risk and uncertainty, but it will also be a year of huge opportunity for businesses to build their brand and differentiate themselves in a fundamentally altered political landscape.

It’s a hugely exciting time to be involved in politics and the political process. I hope that this collection of essays will help you to better understand some of the key drivers in the political debate in 2015, and some of the potential areas of risk and opportunity that businesses might face in the coming months.

We’d be delighted to speak to anyone in more detail about the issues raised in this report. I can be reached directly on 020 7227 1646 should you like to be in contact, or by email at dominicchurch@westminsteradvisers.co.uk.
