Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

The CIPR has announced the shortlists for the 2014 PRide Awards. The PRide Awards recognise and reward excellence in public relations and communications work across Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and six English regions. The Awards ceremonies will take place between 9 October and 5 December around the UK.

More than 350 of the UK’s leading public relations teams, consultancies and individuals have made the shortlists. The numerous categories include an Award for the best Public Affairs Campaign. Below is an overview of the shortlisted candidates in Wales, the Midlands, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

CIPR Cymru Wales PRide Awards

Shortlist:

  • ASH Wales, "Smokefree Playgrounds"
  • Equinox Communications & The Charity Retail Association, "The Fight for Welsh Charity Shops"
  • Freshwater, "What the Fox?"

The results of the 2014 CIPR Cymru Wales PRide Awards will be announced on Friday 24 October 2014 at the Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel and Spa.

The 2013 CIPR Cymru Wales PRide Award was handed out to ASH Wales and the Wales Tobacco Control Alliance for their campaign “Keep the Ban”.

CIPR Midlands PRide Awards

Shortlist:

  • Gough Bailey Wright, "The Belgrave Road Flyover"
  • Whistle PR, "Older people's housing in Ringwood"

The Midlands PRide Awards dinner is taking place on Friday 14 November 2014 at the Ricoh Arena.

The previous Gold winner of this Award was Gough Bailey Wright with their campaign “Sainsbury's Dorridge” in 2012.

CIPR Northern Ireland PRide Awards

Shortlist:

  • Aiken PR, "Opt for Life"
  • Include Youth, "Blow Your Socks Off"
  • JPR, "Convincing the NI Government that HMS Caroline is Worth Saving"
  • MCE Public Relations, "Knocking out Sectarianism and Racism in Boxing in Northern Ireland"
  • MW Advocate with Children's Heartbeat Trust, "Hands up for Heart Surgery"
  • Patient and Client Council, "The Painful Truth"

The Northern Ireland PRide Awards dinner is taking place on Friday 17 October 2014 at Culloden Estate & Spa.

In 2013, Patient and Client Council won Gold for the “Young People's Priorities” campaign.

CIPR Scotland PRide Awards

Shortlist:

  • Grayling Scotland, "Secure housing its rightful place in the Act to integrate health and social care"
  • Pagoda PR, "Improving housing choices for older Scots"
  • Pagoda PR and First ScotRail in-house communications team, "First Class Stakeholder Engagement"
  • Prostate Cancer UK, "Quality Care. Everywhere."

The Scotland PRide Awards dinner is taking place on Thursday 9 October 2014 at The Assembly Rooms.

Prostate Cancer UK’s “Scotland needs abiraterone” was awarded Gold in 2013.
