SEAP, the Society of European Affairs Professionals, has elected a new Board for the next three years and has restructured responsibilities of its vice-presidents.
SEAP aims to advance European public affairs to allow it to continuously improve policy outcomes. It encourages the highest standards of professionalism and promotes self-regulation of the profession. The association is run by the Board and has two operational committees, all overseen by an annual General Assembly and coordinated by Secretary-General Gary Hills.
Malte Lohan, SEAP’s new President, is Global Corporate Affairs Director at AB InBev. Previously, he was Director of Public Affairs at the World Federation of Advertisers. Lohan commented: “We have expanded the number of VPs to three and I have asked them to take on particular roles. Renate Georgescu will focus on Institutional Affairs, Wes Himes on Communications and Dani Kolb on Partnerships and Events. With this new structure SEAP will be a more effective voice for the profession and champion for best-in-class transparency standards in European affairs.”
Renate Georgescu is European External Affairs Manager at Unilever. Her previous experience includes working in the European Parliament as well as for a Brussels-based public affairs consultancy.
Wes Himes is Managing Partner at Instinctif Partners. He has worked in EU public affairs since 1994 and was Founder and Managing Partner of Policy Action before it merged with Instinctif Partners in 2011.
Dani Kolb, who has been member of the SEAP board since 2009, is Manager at Kellen Europe. She has extensive experience working in Brussels with European and international associations.
