Westminster Advisers has been appointed by RenewableUK to support their engagement with manifesto development in the run-up to the 2015 General Election.

Following a competitive pitch process, Westminster Advisers was chosen for its experience across the energy policy landscape, significant consultant expertise and experience in helping organisations to engage with party policy development.

The leading UK trade association for the wind, wave and tidal energy industries, RenewableUK boasts almost 600 members including leading developers, utilities, manufacturers and other supply firm chains.

The appointment has been made at a crucial time for the renewables industry, “as the heated nature of the energy policy debate shows no sign of cooling”. Westminster Advisers has been tasked with the challenge of ensuring that the contribution of wind, wave and tidal industry to the UK’s energy mix is properly represented, and that the economic benefits of investment in renewables to the nation are properly expressed.

Dominic Church, Managing Director of Westminster Advisers, said: “The WA team are delighted to be working with RenewableUK at a critical time for the renewables industry. RenewableUK has a proven track record representing its members’ views to ensure a clear, consistent message is coming from the industry. We look forward to helping RenewableUK make its voice heard within an increasingly noisy energy policy debate”.
