National communications agency Remarkable Group has opened a new office in Cardiff to meet growing demand for its services across Wales.

The launch of the new regional office will allow Remarkable to maintain its position at the forefront of best practice public consultation and engagement for new planning legislation due out this year in the form of the Planning (Wales) Bill.

The new premises in Cardiff give Remarkable a physical presence in Wales following an expanding portfolio of clients in the region for a number of years. The agency already has an office in London, as well as regional offices in the North and South West, employing over 70 people across the United Kingdom.

While the new office has a specific focus on public consultation and regional and government relations, Remarkable Group has an established reputation of delivering a wide variety of successful projects for some of the biggest organisations in the UK.

Leading the new Wales team is Associate Director Laura Wyatt (pictured above left), who has ten years of experience in the industry. She said: “This is an exciting step for us and we are delighted to be able to strengthen our Welsh offering for our clients. We have been delivering successful consultation and political engagement strategies throughout the UK for many years and are focusing on Wales as a new growth area, given our extensive experience in the country.

“Whilst we have been working in Wales for many years, the introduction of new legislation and a new planning environment means we wanted to right at the heart of this change. The launch of our Wales office allows us to provide our clients with the reassurance of a permanent base in Wales, bringing us closer to the decision making and ensuring that we continue to provide the highest quality service for our clients.”

Newport-based Senior Account Manager William Morgan (pictured above middle) is driving the expansion into Wales through his understanding of the Welsh planning environment and ability to deliver effective campaigns. He has made a name for himself delivering high profile consultation programmes and public affairs campaigns for the likes of Tata Steel, Aldi, EDF Energy, Barratt Homes, Vattenfall and Taylor Wimpey.

Morgan added: “It is a time of upheaval within the Welsh planning system; with policy changes and the imminent arrival of Planning (Wales) Bill, there is much uncertainty in the sector about what this means for the country and how it will affect the delivery of the new infrastructure and development that needs to happen if Wales is to continue its economic recovery.

“With the emphasis now on engaging the local community at the earliest opportunity and keeping them involved throughout the development process, we can provide our clients with that extra degree of certainty, through devising and implementing strategies to engage, listen to and, where possible, bring on-side local communities and decision makers where local development needs to happen.”
