The PRCA Public Affairs Group has elected Lionel Zetter FPRCA as their new Chairman. Zetter, Director at The European Azerbaijan Society, defeated Ketchum’s Account Director Victoria Barton in a vote open to all members of the Public Affairs Group.

A former President of the CIPR and former Chair of its Government Affairs Group, Zetter has written multiple books on politics and public affairs. He has also submitted evidence to various committees in consultations on Lobbying and promised in his manifesto to continue to defend the industry’s reputation.

The PRCA announced at the same time that Burhan Al-Gailani (Account Director, Brands2Life) and Simon Pugh (Senior Account Director, Weber Shandwick) had become the Group’s new Vice Chairs.

Commenting on his election, Zetter said: “It is a great honour to have been elected Chair of the PRCA Public Affairs Group. These are challenging times for the industry, and I look forward to working with members and the PRCA’s team to make sure that the PRCA plays its full part in shaping the evolving regulatory environment.”

Outgoing Group Chair, Emily Wallace, added: “I know that Lionel will be a fantastic champion for the public affairs industry, I very much look forward to supporting him vociferously from the side-lines.”
