PoliMonitor, the self styled political monitoring and engagement service “disrupter” has reported a tripling of its subscription clients in 2021.
The last year also saw PoliMonitor grow its three services to six, including a new biographical and AI transcription service, as well as expanding its coverage outside of Westminster to the Welsh and Scottish Parliaments and Northern Ireland Assembly.
Speaking to PubAffairs from their new office near East London's Silicon Roundabout, PoliMonitor CEO and former No 10 digital Comms staffer Sam Cunningham said:
“We’ve seen a real surge of interest in our political monitoring services this year which was driven in part by the pandemic. Organisations have been reviewing their services - many for the first time in years - to ensure they deliver not just value for money but actually what they need. For many public affairs teams they’ve found their existing monitoring services wanting, as those traditional systems just can’t match the increasing scale, speed and complexity of modern day politics.”
“The last year has also opened people’s eyes to how technology can save time and help them work more efficiently. For us that meant using our automated transcription service, an instant record of Parliamentary debates, rather than individual teams scribbling away for hours manually.”
While PoliMonitor now works with the majority of the largest public affairs agencies, as well as major trade bodies, not-for-profits and public bodies, Cunningham still sees potential for future growth.
“As we keep listening to our clients, we want to make even more useful tools for them in 2022, as we’ve built less than 1% of what we want to. And while this will mean improving our existing monitoring systems to deliver even smarter, faster more personalised monitoring, we also want to provide tools which assist public affairs teams improve the management and efficacy of their political engagements.”
