Political Intelligence, the independent public affairs consultancy established by Nick Lansman in 1995, celebrated its 20th anniversary this week with a party at the Eight Members Club in Central London. Clients, both past and present, as well as colleagues and industry stakeholders were brought together to celebrate the milestone.
Established in London, Political Intelligence now has additional offices in Brussels and Madrid and boasts a team of over 35 consultants. Combined with its satellite offices and partners, it has a public affairs reach across all major European markets, and most recently agreed a partnership with DHR Communications to provide expertise in Ireland.
Group Managing Director, Nick Lansman stated “It’s been quite a journey, from just myself in a small room off Great Peter Street to a company offering multiple services across different countries. It’s been fantastic to see the company grow in that time, undertaking numerous ground breaking campaigns over the years that have not only helped our clients but also the industries in which they operate.
"It has also been intriguing to see our own industry mature dramatically over that time from a fairly ad hoc group of companies and individuals to a much more professionalised sector. It has been fantastic to be involved in this change and I firmly believe the industry can be proud of its development in that time. Whilst some companies have come and gone, I am proud of our longevity and am extremely positive about the future as public affairs continues to rise up the boardroom agenda of the businesses we meet.”
Lansman, who was recently re-elected as Deputy Chairman of the APPC, added: “Whilst public affairs will always remain our focus, we recognise that our clients are increasingly looking for support across wider communication disciplines. With this in mind, we are keen to join forces with the best in breed and have enjoyed a new partnership with Hotwire PR in the past year. This has seen real developments with common clients, our London team sharing the same office and greater collaboration on a variety of projects. We look forward to developing this partnership and other relationships further across the group as a means to support our clients as effectively as possible and to help steer the company to the next level of growth in the years ahead.”
Historically, Political Intelligence has had a strong heritage in the tech sector, with an emphasis on Internet, Telecoms and innovative technology. The business has diversified signifcantly over time to include work in the healthcare, energy, utilities and transport sectors, whilst maintaining an area of significant experise in tech.
