Peter Elms and Aardvark Environmental Matters have launched Alpaca Communications, an expert PR agency that will campaign on behalf of its clients for secure energy, more homes and better public services. Alpaca will focus on planning and consultation PR, a sector that “has for too long been the Betamax of the PR industry”.

Alpaca’s co-founders have expertise across both planning and PR. Peter Elms has a decade of PR campaign experience and has delivered consultation strategies for major retailers, energy companies and house builders. Prior to Alpaca’s launch, Elms worked at Local Dialogue, PLMR and Green Issues Communications and is an experienced spokesperson, appearing on broadcast media including Sky News and the BBC.

Aardvark EM, an independent consultancy delivering robust, tailored solutions for projects in energy and waste, bring over twenty years of experience in planning and environmental management. Nick Leaney, Director at Aardvark, believes a good PR campaign needs deep sector understanding and will bring this vision to Alpaca to deliver expert PR campaigns.

Leaney is a qualified Chartered Surveyor with over 15 years of experience in commercial property and sustainable energy. He was previously with Strutt and Parker where he was a Partner in their commercial division based at Head Office.

Peter Elms, Director of Alpaca Communications said: “We thought we could do planning PR and consultation a little differently and a lot better. We want to campaign for the things we care about and that are important.

“Whilst some agencies work hard to sell sugar water, we want to campaign for secure energy, more homes and better public services. That’s why we’ve founded Alpaca Communications”.
