NorthPoint Strategy, a leading political and communications consultancy has hired Lord David Triesman and Tommy Sprague to expand its Labour advisory capabilities ahead of the next general election.
Sprague joins as the former Director of Field for the re-election campaigns of London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, and had spells as an organiser in Labour HQ for the London Labour Party and Labour South West, including working on four General Elections and the Brexit referendum.
Triesman was the former General Secretary of the Labour Party, a Government Minister and the first independent Chair of the Football Association (FA).
Leveraging his extensive experience as a prominent trade unionist and former General Secretary of the Labour Party from 2001 to 2003, Triesman played a central role in negotiations between the New Labour Movement and trade unions.
As a pivotal figure in the establishment of the New Labour government, Lord Triesman held influence in senior Ministerial roles within the Foreign Office and the Department for Innovation, Universities, and Skills across both the Blair and Brown administrations.
Triesman will now take on the role of Senior Counsel at NorthPoint Strategy where he will advise the agency’s rapidly expanding client base - providing guidance and strategy on how to prepare for and engage with a potential Labour Government.
