In the latest round of recent hires, MRM Public and Regulatory Affairs has announced the appointment of Robin McGhee to spearhead its parliamentary and political intelligence unit, working across the organisation’s range of public and regulatory affairs clients.

Previously, McGhee ran the campaign of high-profile activist turned politician Maajid Nawaz, Chairman and Co-Founder of the anti-extremist Quilliam foundation. McGhee is also a former Lib Dem parliamentary candidate, having contested Kensington for the party at this year’s general election. He graduated from Oxford Universtiy and political research and journalism have dominated his career since.

Havard Hughes, MRM’s Head of Public Affairs commented: “Since we launched the public and regulatory affairs team last year we’ve continued to expand our team and services. Robin’s research expertise will be a powerful asset to our parliamentary and political intelligence unit as we continue to grow and take on new clients. His experience of Lib Dem politics will also be useful, particularly as Lib Dem peers pledged to hold the Government to ransom in the Lords.”

Commenting on his appointment, Robin McGhee said: “MRM’s public and regulatory affairs team has a reputation for a unique understanding of the financial services and political landscape. I’m looking forward to working as part of a team, especially as we head into a potentially explosive EU referendum with the future of the industry at risk.”
