The Restaurant
Shepherd's has an illustrious culinary pedigree. It was formerly owned by the famous restaurateur Peter Langan, Sir Michael Caine and, of course, Richard Shepherd. Our story begins in 2013 when Lionel Zetter stepped in with a vision to take Shepherd's back to its glory days.
Lionel Zetter is the proprietor of Shepherd's of Westminster.
Lionel is an author, publisher, public affairs consultant and serial entrepreneur. Lionel has lived and worked in SW1 for more than 30 years, and he is very much a Westminster man.
Head Chef – Karl Goward
After spending three years working alongside Fergus Henderson at St.John, Karl was asked to open St.John Bread & Wine. This was greeted with unanimous applause culminating in it being awarded the prestigious Best Restaurant of the Year 2004.
Seeking a new challenge Karl left London for New York where he spent time at The Spotted Pig, Prune and Soho House.
With over 20 years of experience, Karl's commitment to bringing the best of food from around the British Isles is uncompromising. Whilst respecting its history and tradition, Karl would like to see Shepherd's of Westminster recognised once again as one of the premier places to dine in London.
