Political insight specialist Forefront Advisers today welcomes James Nation as Managing Director of UK Politics. Previously Deputy Head of the Number 10 Policy Unit, James brings a wealth of experience in advising the prime minister on several areas of public policy.

Prior to his role in Number 10, he was a Special Adviser to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, a civil servant in both the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and the Treasury, and worked in tax and fiscal policy at the CBI.

James will join the UK Politics team headed up by James McBride, previously economic and business policy lead in the Labour Party’s Policy Unit. The team has already begun advising clients on the upcoming Budget and Spending Review.

The appointment follows two other recent senior hires – Ksenia Duxfield-Karyakina, Managing Director of Emerging Technology and Dustin Benton, Managing Director of Sustainability – as Forefront Advisers continues to expand its intelligence offering to provide additional depth of insights to its public affairs and investor clients.

James Nation said: “I am thrilled to be joining the team at Forefront Advisers at a time when the forthcoming Budget and Spending Review will set out the stall of the new Government, and with significant developments to navigate across a range of policy areas such as planning and industrial strategy.”

James McBride, Managing Director at Forefront Advisers, said: “I’ve known James for several years, and we are delighted that he has joined us following his time in Number 10. His experience advising the former Prime Minister, alongside his work on fiscal policy, will immediately benefit our clients in this new political climate. With the Budget just weeks away, James is perfectly placed to unpick the rumours from the facts and provide the intelligence-led insight Forefront is known for.”
