Connect Communications has announced a series of major client wins under new ownership following a management buy-out.

The Institute of Fundraising has hired the agency following a highly competitive pitch process, with a brief to campaign to build awareness of the importance of charity fundraising. The account will be led by Partner and new co-owner of Connect, Laura Blake, supported by Account Director, James Noble and a team of consultants.

Laura Blake said "The Institute of Fundraising is a fantastic organisation with an important story to tell about recent changes within the charitable sector and we are delighted to be working with them. Connect has always had a particular expertise in working with organisations in the charitable and not for profit sector and we look forward to developing this area of business in the months to come”

Mike Smith, Head of Media and Public Affairs at the Institute of Fundraising commented “Connect have shown a real professionalism in their approach, a clear understanding of what we hope to achieve, and the expertise and experience which will add value to our work.  We look forward to working together in the coming months."

In addition to the IoF, Connect has revealed a series of further client wins that will boost the company as it embarks on a growth plan under new ownership:

  • the Builders Merchants Federation, on a PR brief to promote the important role of builders merchants in UK construction;
  • Habinteg, on an integrated public relations and public affairs brief to promote the importance of accessible housing;
  • The Housing Fringe, a major initiative at the UK party conferences involving a range of housing associations;
  • The Good Hotel, on a brief to engage with the local community, business and opinion formers on proposals for a new floating hotel.

Connect’s management buy-out was announced at the end of May, with the MBO team of Andy Sawford, Sarah King and Laura Blake purchasing 100% of the shareholding and ownership of Connect.

Sarah King, Partner and co-owner added “We are delighted to be announcing client wins across a range of sectors showing the strength of our team and our integrated offer. We are now recruiting at all levels to support our growth plans and will be announcing new hires soon.”
