James Garland is to join Westbourne Communications as a Partner to lead the consultancy’s engagement practice, which includes account director Lucy James and account manager James Wickett-White.

Garland moves following nine years at Green Issues Communique (part of College Group) where he was a Director heading up the company’s stakeholder engagement projects. Started four years ago by James Bethell, Westbourne has grown to 15 employees.

Westbourne founder James Bethell said:

"Stakeholder engagement is a growing part of Westbourne Communications’ business. It’s also a discipline which clients are taking more and more seriously.

"Westbourne is broken into two practices: Change Opinion and Engage Opinion. Decisions are increasingly made in a bottom up way and forward looking businesses recognise this. James has a proven understanding of how to engage with stakeholders across the field and we look forward to him expanding this part of our business."

James Garland said:

"Westbourne Communications is making waves at the moment. The opportunity to join such a thriving and hungry agency at a time of rapid growth is one I could not refuse. Westbourne’s dedication to stakeholder engagement is hard not to admire. I look forward to working with a new team to produce the kind of work for which Westbourne has become famous."
