FTI Consulting has announced the expansion of its Public Affairs practice in the UK with six new appointments. The new team will be based in London, working with the recently appointed UK Head of Public Affairs and Managing Director Alex Deane.
Central to the expansion is the appointment of the Rt. Hon. Patricia Hewitt and Philippa Roe as Senior Advisors. Hewitt has extensive experience in Government and asa company Director. She served in Tony Blair's Cabinet as Secretary of State for Trade and Industry and Cabinet Minister for Women and Health Secretary, having previously held posts as Economic Secretary to the Treasury and e-Commerce Minister. Hewitt is currently a Director of EuroTunnel Group, a member of the global advisory board of the technology firm Sutherland Global Services and Chair of the UK India Business Council. Roe is current leader of Westminster City Council and has wide-ranging experience in communications, the City and politics at the most senior levels and is well known for her ability to successfully combine a commercial approach with government policies.
Recent appointments also include John Gusman, joining from PLMR, and Laura Sainsbury who moved from Bellenden. Liam O’Keefe, Senior Director, and Alex Holroyd, Director, joined from Accounting for International Development and FTI’s Brussels office respectively.
