Rachael Clamp, former President of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and founder and director of Ardesey Ltd., has been recognised as one of the Top 100 Women in Westminster for 2025 for her efforts campaigning for ethical lobbying, empowering young people in politics, and championing gender diversity in the defence sector.
A former chair of the CIPR’s Public Affairs Group, Rachael has spent her career advocating for integrity and transparency in lobbying, ensuring that decision-making processes are open, accountable, and reflective of the public interest. Her work has helped shape best practices across government and industry, reinforcing the critical role of ethical engagement in policy development.
Beyond her professional achievements, she is a passionate advocate for youth political engagement, dedicating time to helping drive and direct the non-for-profit I Have A Voice (IHAV) in their mission to encourage greater participation in public life.
Rachael also works to address the gender imbalance in traditionally male-dominated sectors and has been a strong voice in the organisation and development of Women in Defence UK, working alongside founder Angela Owen OBE to increase female representation in the UK defence industry.
“It is a real honour to be included among such an inspiring group of women, although I still feel a bit awkward about accepting the praise and recognition I’ve had from my colleagues who did this submission in secret,” said Clamp of the nomination. “I’m happy to be able to continue to shine a light on the need for ethical lobbying, youth engagement in politics, and improving gender diversity in defence. Hopefully these issues will be better recognised through my place in this year’s Top 100 Women in Westminster. I really do hope this recognition continues to drive conversations about the importance of integrity in public affairs and the need for greater inclusion in sectors that shape both our national security and policy."
Women in Westminster: The 100 celebrates the achievements and the valuable role women play in public life by recognising one hundred women from across the world of Westminster, who are leading the way in politics and public services.
