The European Public Affairs Awards (EPA Awards) took place on Wednesday 19 February at the Albert Hall in Brussels. Hosted by Dods for the sixth year, the awards celebrate excellence and best practice in the public affairs community in Brussels.

The shortlist was decided upon by a panel of expert judges which was then voted on by Brussels-based stakeholders. This year's EPA Awards voting college comprised two academics as well as 25 board members of SEAP, EPACA and ECPA.

FairRoaming scooped the Campaign of the Year Award. “Europeans for Fair Roaming” is a network of more than 150,000 European citizens and organisations, calling on the EU to put an end to high roaming fees across the Union. Bengt Beier, Campaign Coordinator, tweeted that he was “so proud to have won” and said he hoped to be back next year.

Interel, who sponsored the inaugural PubAffairs EU networking event on Thursday 13th February at Europe House in Westminster, was honoured with the Consultancy on the Year Award. Managing Partner of Interel’s EU team Gregoire Poisson reacted: “This award is recognition of the quality service we provide to our clients and the esteem that we are held in by our peers. We’re pleased to win in an extremely strong category. Last year was a good year for our team but 2014 can be even better.”

Interel also celebrated Cristina Mariani, collecting the Rising Star of the Year Award. Cristina said: “It’s a great honour to win this award, especially as it is recognition of my work from my peers.”
