Public affairs and political communications agency The Whitehouse Consultancy has announced the promotion of Emma Carr to Managing Director amongst a host of promotions and appointments. Carr, promoted from the position of Associate Director, joined Whitehouse in 2010 having previously worked for organisations including the Social Market Foundation and Bupa.
The announcement is accompanied by the news that founder Chris Whitehouse will move to the position of Chairman, with Associate Director Carl Thomson also receiving a promotion to the role of Director. Thomson, like Carr, arrived at Whitehouse in 2010 from positions in the House supporting John Redwood MP and now Home Secretary Theresa May MP.
Peter Shand and George Paterson progress from Monitoring and Research Executives to become Junior Political Consultants, having both joined Whitehouse last year. The agency has also employed Julie Ogiehor and Ben Chiu, the latter following a successful internship. Chris Whitehouse has also recruited Luke de Pulford as his Executive Assistant.
Chris Whitehouse, Chairman of the Whitehouse Consultancy, said:
“2013 was one of our best ever years in terms of profits and turnover; and 2014 has got off to a flying start with several new clients. We need a new structure to cope with further growth and to take Whitehouse to the next level. We are delighted that Emma is stepping up to the plate and have every confidence for the future.”
Emma Carr, Managing Director, said:
“Now that Whitehouse offers a full range of services from public affairs to PR, from event management to market access, it needs more robust structures and systems. We are investing heavily in our team to ensure that we retain our pre-eminent position as one of London’s leading communication agencies.”
