Lobbyists, journalists and politicians will come together at Shepherd’s of Westminster for renowned election-night party.
Restaurant Shepherd’s of Westminster has announced the return of its exclusive election night party on June 8th. Guests from across the political spectrum will celebrate (or commiserate) in style just minutes from Parliament over cocktails, canapés and exit-poll sweepstakes.
Lionel Zetter, the owner of Shepherd’s of Westminster, reopened the restaurant in 2015 after a brief and much lamented period of closure. He is teaming up with communications software provider Vuelio, PR and communications membership body the PRCA and political news company POLITICO for the night.
Zetter said: ‘’The party in 2015 was the biggest in town with guests from across the political and lobbying world, and anyone who attended will know there’s no better place to be on election night. With the weight of Vuelio, the PRCA and POLITICO behind it, this one promises to be even better’’.
Joanna Arnold, Chief Executive Officer of Vuelio, commented: ‘’With our unique position across the worlds of media and politics, we’ve been at the heart of this tumultuous campaign period. We can’t wait to raise a glass with everyone who’s been working so hard, and what better place to do so than the legendary Shepherd’s of Westminster?’’
Dari Gessner, Chief Revenue Officer at POLITICO, added: “We’ve seen tremendous growth in our UK readership this year, as more people seek journalism that ties London, Washington, and Brussels together. We’re delighted to ring in the election with our readers at Shepherd’s”.
Shepherd’s of Westminster’s 2015 #PollNightLong General Election party was a roaring success, with guests coming together for 12 hours of eating and drinking while watching what the polls predicted would be a nail bitingly close contest.

Tucked away between Vincent Square and Smith Square and nestling on the ground floor of the art deco Marsham Court, Shepherd's of Westminster offers British classics with an up to date approach in a beautifully appointed dining room. It was formerly owned by the famous restaurateur Peter Langan, Sir Michael Caine and, of course, Richard Shepherd.
