Political communications consultancy Curtin&Co has appointed the former leader of Cambridgeshire County Council, Martin Curtis, as an Associate Director. Curtis will join the rapidly growing Community Politics team and take responsibility for strategic advice and political counsel on a number of housing schemes across the Midlands and South East.

Curtis, who joins a team dominated by politicians and former politicians, boasts a wealth of Social Media experience and also brings with him knowledge of strategy and policy development, communications, account management and project management. His career has also seen him spend a period as a civil servant and contest the Parliamentary seat of Nottingham North in 2010, where he achieved an 8.7% swing.

Catherine Worboys, Managing Director at Curtin&Co, said of Curtis’ appointment: “We are delighted to welcome Martin to Curtin&Co. He brings with him extensive experience of political communications and Local Government, and supplements our existing team’s credentials across East Anglia and the Midlands.”

Curtis added: “My experience as a politician has shown me that there is a desperate need for both new housing and economic growth in the UK. That, combined with my strong belief that the best planning is done with communities rather than to them, is the reason I am delighted to have been appointed by Curtin&Co”.
