Cratus has rebranded to Cratus Group, reflecting its broader offering in strategic and integrated communications.

The rebrand comes after a period of sustained growth for Cratus Group, following a 60% growth in revenue between 2020 and 2023, driven by cross sector growth and increasing demand for corporate affairs, government relations and integrated campaign solutions.

While Cratus Group continues to be a sector leader for built environment communications, this rebrand reflects the agency’s increasing hold in the technology, finance, energy and infrastructure and transport sectors.

The rebrand reflects Cratus Group’s enhanced offering and investment across corporate communications and reputation management, government relations, local government, planning and community engagement, as well as integrated creative services – providing a fully integrated communications offering to clients across multiple sectors.

The rebrand comes as Cratus Group launches a new Insights Lab to the marketplace and refocuses its strategic offering to clients. The Insights Lab brings together a dedicated research and insights function that is already providing original research on fast moving political issues and trends, as well as in-depth analysis into social and behavioural economics and broader market trends in the UK.

Elsewhere, Cratus Group’s renewed strategic focus and investment in integrated services provides further opportunities for clients to access broader services and benefit from a depth of talent across the company. The rebrand reflects the continued investment in its team, including via:

  • A boosted investment in both Corporate Communications and National Government Relations. With the recent arrival of Managing Director for Advocacy, Jennifer Riddell Carpenter, Cratus Group’s national client base has continued to grow, with the broadening of government relations, crisis communications and reputation turnaround services across a broad portfolio of sectors;
  • An enhanced ‘Local Government Relations Unit’. Led by the former leader of Worthing Council, Director Dan Humphreys, the ‘Local Government Relations Unit’ provides leading communications strategy, political counsel and impactful campaigns to clients across the technology, finance, infrastructure, energy and the housing sectors.  This unit now also brings together Cratus Group’s renowned Democratic Advisory Services, which provides strategic counsel and improvement services directly to local authorities and elected bodies;
  • A re-launched London planning comms team, headed up by recent hire Director James Goldstone. James is overseeing the development and growth of the London team, providing more opportunities to the London development and infrastructure market. James works closely with the wider planning and community engagement team, led by Managing Director Julian Seymour – which provides services to over 100 clients across the built environment, transport, energy and infrastructure sectors.

Speaking of the rebrand, CEO Nick Kilby said:

“The launch of Cratus Group marks an important milestone in the evolution of the agency, and the quality and depth of services we provide.

At a time when political risk is increasing, and reputation matters more than ever before, our strategic focused remains fully focused on providing best in class services and strategic counsel and driving forward positive change.

Our people remain central to our success and will continue to be core to what sets Cratus Group apart. The Cratus Group team are recognised change makers that are delivering impact across the every corner of the country, and in each of the sectors that are driving the UK’s economy.

Our rebrand refreshes our ambition and revitalises our market offering.

With 2024 firmly in our sights, we’re excited to be moving our ambition forward, broadening our strategic services, and bringing new products and services to the market as the UK goes through significant political and technological shifts.

As change remains the only constant, so should extraordinary counsel and client services.”
