Brand Communications Group, a leading communications firm focussed on Africa, has opened an office in Côte d’Ivoire, its first office in Francophone Africa. The move increases the number of Brand Communications offices from three to four.
The office in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, will be led by Brand Communications Group Country Manager, Yvan Guéhi. He reports directly to Founder and Managing Director, Terhas Asefaw Berhe. Born in Côte d’Ivoire, Guéhi has been with the company for seven years and worked for nine years in both London and Paris. In previous roles, he supported major brands such as Orange, Disneyland Paris, British Gas and Neopost. Guéhi will be working with a range of pan-African clients, including Ecobank Group, Continental Reinsurance, Wari, Digital Afrique Telecom, Petro Ivoire and Azito.
Founded in 2003, Brand Communications aims to grow the group’s Francophone client base in West Africa from the hub in Abidjan. The agency already has offices in London, Ghana and Nigeria with a total staff of 50 people. There are plans to open more offices in Africa to meet the growing demand for communications services by clients in Africa.
Yvan Guéhi commented: "This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for me and Brand Communications Group. Côte d’Ivoire’s economy is growing at a phenomenal 9 per cent rate every year, the fastest growing after Ethiopia on the continent. Not even India or China are growing at this rate. I am really excited about investing in local talent and contributing to the local economy. Our new Abidjan office brings us a step closer to our clients and the West African markets. The result will lead to deeper understanding and closer relationships for both sides."
Terhas Asefaw Berhe said: “Our clients come to us knowing that they will get an authentic, highly-skilled and professional service. This desire to help Africa emerge sustainably and for the long-term is what drives all of us here at Brand Communications. I have full confidence that Yvan and his team will ensure that the new Abidjan office will become a major hub for us.”
