Atlas Partners has hired Michael Dowsett, from MHP, and Laura McCarthy from Whitehouse Communications, to join the team as Senior Consultants in order to support continued growth. Dowsett and McCarthy join other recent hires Holly Mahon, Consultant, and Keisha Bullock Singh, Katie Neame and Ambar Iqbal as Researchers.
WWF appointed Atlas Partners in May following a competitive tender process, involving 12 proposals and 4 agencies at pitch stage, to run a public affairs campaign towards ‘net zero’ in the agriculture sector. This supplemented other recent wins and contract extensions over the last quarter for Atlas Partners including the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX), Mother Pukka and Sir Robert McAlpine’s Flex Appeal campaign and Facebook.
David Walsh from WWF said: “Atlas impressed us with their passion and creativity, as well as their strong environmental credentials. We were looking for an agency partner who offered strategic added value, but also got what we needed and could provide brilliant campaign basics”.
Vanessa Pine, Co-Director at Atlas Partners said: “When Charlie and I founded Atlas in 2015, we put happiness at the heart of our business model. We wanted to do work we cared about with people who challenged and appreciated us. Six years on that mission is attracting a talented team and clients that we are proud to work with. After the turbulence of 2020, which saw us finish the year a little ahead of flat, we’ve had a cracking first half of 2021. We’re delighted to be expanding our team and look forward to the contribution both Michael and Laura will make with their skills and experience. Given that I wanted to be David Attenborough when I was six, and first wrote to my local MP at 12 about recycling, WWF is a particularly exciting brief to win!”.
Michael Dowsett added: "I'm delighted to have had the opportunity to join the award-winning team at Atlas Partners during an exciting period of growth for the company. Over recent weeks I've already been impressed by the team's dedication to delivering innovative and impactful campaigns for our clients, and look forward to playing a role in the continued success of Atlas in the years ahead".
Laura McCarthy said: “After a turbulent few years in politics, I'm proud to join Atlas with its clear commitment to politics as a force for good. I can't wait to begin using my expertise in political campaigns for causes that expressly benefit society. It is brilliant to see that Atlas practise what they preach as an employer, offering true flexibility and championing diversity to create a happy and productive workforce, working on campaigns with causes and results to be proud of”.
