The Association for Scottish Public Affairs (ASPA) has elected Gordon Robertson as Convener. Established in 1998, ASPA is the leading representative body for the public affairs sector in Scotland and has a diverse range of members from businesses, charities, consultancies, membership organisations and trade associations.

Robertson is currently Director of Communications at Edinburgh Airport and has been working in public relations, public affairs and marketing for over 15 years.

Robertson succeeds Lindsay Scott, Media and Communications Officer at North Lanarkshire Council and previously of Age Scotland.

Robertson said about his appointment: "We are entering an important year for the public affairs industry with more attention than ever on the Scottish Parliament, the prospect of lobbying bills before the UK and Scottish Parliaments, and of course the Scottish independence referendum.

I'm looking forward to working with my committee colleagues on behalf of ASPA members to promote the work and good practice of the public affairs industry in Scotland to show how we make a positive contribution to the work of Government and Parliament.”
