Arden Strategies, the London-based, internationally renowned political and communications advisory firm has announced a further senior hire: Ailsa Williams will join the growing team in September 2024.

As Managing Director, Ailsa will oversee Arden’s expansion and work as the strategic client lead across its divisions.

Ailsa’s appointment comes hit on the heels of the news that former Labour MP and Deputy Chief Whip, Holly Lynch, also joins the firm.

Ailsa is a seasoned government relations and corporate affairs adviser, with almost 20 years’ industry experience, including leadership roles in two of London’s leading agencies: Portland Communications and Teneo.

She joins Arden as its strategic communications offer expands. Her significant experience advising clients in highly regulated sectors and navigating high-stakes political challenges will be invaluable to the firm’s growing corporate client base.

With a strong track record of leading high-performing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver results for clients, she has advised corporate affairs leaders and C-Suite executives within major global brands and FTSE 100 businesses. Her expertise includes government relations, reputation management, political campaigns and navigating the policy and regulatory landscape. She began her career working for Labour MPs and remains an active party member, including campaigning for several candidates in the recent General Election.

Ahead of starting her new role, Ailsa said: “I’m thrilled to be starting at Arden at a time of significant political change. Clients always need high-quality, insight driven strategic advice and delivery - and even more so as they navigate this new landscape. Arden’s experienced, dynamic team brings that in spades. I can’t wait to join one of the most exciting and fastest-growing agencies in London and look forward to supporting their impressive roster of clients.”

Arden Strategies’ CEO, Rt Hon. Jim Murphy, added: “As we continue to grow and meet the evolving needs of our clients in this new era, I am really excited to welcome Ailsa, whose leadership and corporate advisory experience will be a huge benefit to our clients both in the UK and globally.”
