PoliMonitor has announced Ben Abbotts will be joining the company as its first Chair.
The political risk and insights company, which aims to disrupt the political monitoring industry by leveraging the power of automation and artificial intelligence, has added more names to its client list during the pandemic as political discussions shift online.
MPs now regularly Tweet over 100,000 times a month on average while the UK Parliament has moved to a remote working, digital led way of working.
This has resulted in a surge of interest in the AI start-up, with PoliMonitor now working with the majority of the UK's leading public affairs agencies.
Abbotts is a well known senior public affairs professional, having held several senior roles during his 20 years in the industry, spanning Weber Shandwick, Edelman and as a Partner at Financial Dynamics/LLM.
Abbotts had a Partner and Chief Operating Officer at Westbourne Communications, which was acquired by Cicero Group.
It is expected that Abbotts will take a lead on developing the start-ups strategic partnerships, investment strategy and developing product offer for public affairs agency clients.
Co-founder and CEO Sam Cunningham said:
"Our AI enabled political reputation and risk services provide comms professionals with unique and actionable insights, and as one of the best comms people in the business, Ben will really help us deliver on this.”
Ben Abbotts said:
"I have long felt that government affairs intelligence at either the Parliamentary or digital worlds required some re-booting in order to manage their client's risks and reputations. To be able to track over 10,000 parliamentarians in over 36 countries in 20 different languages is fantastic and marks a high point especially for agencies handling challenging international briefs. PoliMonitor is spearheading that change - with bespoke technology leveraging automation and AI - which can deliver faster and better insights 24/7, while allowing teams to do more for less."
