This morning, the Prime Minister announced that a General Election will be held on the 8th June 2017, commenting that the United Kingdom needs certainty, leadership, and stability.

Tomorrow, a vote will be held in the House of Commons on a motion to approve the election, which requires a two thirds majority for it to pass. However, given the other parties in Westminster have come out to support the snap election it is almost guaranteed to pass.

Below we have outlined the key upcoming dates in an indicative timeline and we will of course be keeping you informed in the coming weeks and months as we head into the 2017 General Election.
