The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Account Executive to join our team. An ideal opportunity for someone wanting to start a career in public affairs, you will gain hands-on experience across our consultancy and political intelligence services as we support clients to engage with the new government and Parliament.

The Public Affairs Company is a long-established, Leeds based government and parliamentary relations consultancy. We deliver insight, advice and strategy on how to engage effectively with political stakeholders both nationally and regionally.

As an Account Executive, you will support work on a number of client accounts across the housing, health & social care, education and energy sectors.

Key tasks will include:

  • Monitoring developments from government and Parliament to provide daily and weekly reports for our clients;
  • Undertaking research to contribute to reports, strategies and political briefings;
  • Drafting correspondence to MPs and Ministers;
  • Organising meetings and parliamentary events;
  • Contributing to new business development ideas.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for accuracy and detail;
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to tight deadlines;
  • Willingness to work in a small office environment as part of a team;
  • Great research skills including being able to identify the key points from large amounts of information;
  • Effective time management and strong organisational skills, including being able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks;
  • Enthusiasm and ability for putting forward creative ideas;
  • A keen interest in and understanding of UK politics;
  • Good working knowledge of parliamentary procedures;
  • Any experience of working in Westminster or in public affairs (consultancy or in-house) would be beneficial but is not essential.
